Getting a job after graduating isn’t easy but the Redbird Alumni Network makes it easier to network with other ISU Alumni. More often than not, prior ISU graduates will be very helpful when it comes to giving job advice to recent graduates.
An effective email introduction template can be copied and used:
“Hi, my name is _____, and I graduated with a degree in _____ from Illinois State University. I found your contact information through our alumni office. I would appreciate just 20 minutes of your time to hear more about what you do at ______ on a daily basis, your career path, and what it’s like to work in the field. I’ve attached a copy of my resume just so you have a frame of reference of my education and experience.”
